- Social strategy – which platforms, which audiences, which content pillars, which measurements. Written down, not improvised post-by-post.
- Content calendar – planned monthly, sequenced to brand and business moments, with room for opportunistic posts.
- Design and motion templates – built specifically for the brand so weekly output looks distinctively yours, not Canva-generic.
- Photography and video direction – brief, shotlist, and where helpful, on-site direction. We sometimes shoot ourselves and sometimes recommend a local photographer.
- Posting and community management – scheduling, posting, responses, monitoring. Either retainer or just for campaigns.
- Paid media support – Meta and LinkedIn ad creative and copy when the strategy calls for it. We work with media partners for buying when budgets warrant.
- Monthly reporting – not vanity metrics. What worked, what didn't, what the data says to do next.
How we think about it
Most social work fails because it is treated as content production, not as audience-building. Posting consistently is necessary; it isn't sufficient. The question we keep asking is — is this content moving the audience closer to the moment they need us, or just keeping the algorithm fed?
We work to a slower-but-sharper cadence than most social agencies. Three to five strong posts a week beats seven daily filler ones for every metric that matters to the business. We say no to "increase posting frequency" briefs that aren't backed by a strategy update.
What it costs
Honest ranges, in South African rands, in 2026 — monthly retainer pricing:
- Lite – R15,000–R25,000/month. One platform, 2–3 posts/week, basic design templates, monthly calendar, light reporting.
- Standard – R25,000–R50,000/month. Two to three platforms, custom design + motion templates, content calendar, community management, monthly reporting.
- Full – R50,000–R80,000+/month. Multi-platform strategy, original content production (photo/video shoots), paid creative, weekly reporting, quarterly strategic reviews.
Most clients also commission a one-off social strategy + template build (R40,000–R80,000) before starting a retainer, so the foundation is in place before recurring work begins.
