What's included

Every branding engagement is scoped to fit, but most include some combination of:

  • Brand strategy – positioning, audience definition, competitive landscape, the written argument that everything downstream answers to.
  • Naming – when there's a new brand, sub-brand, or product to name. Linguistic shortlist, availability checks, owner sign-off.
  • Identity system – primary logo, secondary lockups, type and colour system, photography and illustration direction, motion principles.
  • Voice and tone – not "bold, human, considered". Actual rules with examples, so anyone writing for the brand sounds like it.
  • Guidelines – the document that keeps the system intact when we're not in the room. Usually 25–60 pages depending on scope.
  • Rollout – the homepage, social templates, presentation deck, email signature, business essentials. Enough to launch the brand confidently.

How we work

Strategy first, always. We start by getting clear on what's actually true about the business — who you sell to, what they want, where you're trying to go — and only then do we point craft at the problem.

A typical branding engagement runs four to twelve weeks depending on scope. One decision-maker on your side, weekly check-ins, fixed price (not hourly), written change-of-scope process so surprises don't quietly inflate the budget.

We're a small studio, which means the people who pitched the work are the same people doing it. No account managers, no juniors quietly executing while seniors disappear after kickoff.

What it costs

Honest ranges, in South African rands, in 2026:

  • Logo refresh + one-page rules – R30,000–R70,000. Suitable for sole traders, side projects, sub-brands.
  • Working identity – R70,000–R150,000. New mark, type and colour system, basic guidelines. Right scope for most growing SMEs.
  • Full identity system – R150,000–R350,000. Mark, full system, photography and motion direction, comprehensive guidelines, rollout pack.
  • Strategic rebrand – R350,000+. Includes strategy and audience research, identity, rollout. The right shape for repositioning, mergers, or scaling internationally.
